To be able to solve the cube we need to know it a little and to start we will know the parts of the cube. It has 26 pieces of 3 different types:
The cube has 6 centers, they are the pieces that only have 1 color. The centers never change position, they are always distributed in the same way.
The cube has 12 edges, they are the pieces that have 2 different colors each.
The cube has 8 corners. The corners have 3 different colors each.
In order to be able to read and write series of movements, the notation that I will explain below is used.
The cube has 6 faces, each face is assigned a different letter, this letter would mean 1/4 turn of the face clockwise. The counterclockwise rotation is determined by putting an 'after the letter. If you have to move one side 1/2 turn put a 2 after the letter.
Clockwise rotation
Rotation counterclockwise
Possible moves are as follows.
Clockwise:
L
F
R
B
U
D
Counterclockwise:
L'
F'
R'
B'
U'
D'
The middle layers also have an established notation, it is as follows:
M
M'
E
E'
S
S'
There are also 2-layer rotational movements, represented by lowercase lettering or a subsequent w.
I leave 4 examples:
u
d'
l
l'
There is also a notation indicating turns of the whole cube to change the face from where we look at it. They are as follows:
X
X'
Y
Y'
Z
Z'
Double movements of a layer can be indicated using the number 2 after the letter. The direction of rotation is not relevant, because whether you do it clockwise or counterclockwise the result will be the same. Here are some examples:
U2
R2
B2
